Let Your Light Shine

Scriptures on letting your light shine will come to life as children enjoy hearing this allegory of the potter and His newest creation. Teach children how to shine their light with this beautiful picture book.

What does the Bible say about letting your light shine?

In Matthew 5, children read about being the light of the world. The light is under a bowl or on a stand. The light is to shine before others.

Children may know Matthew 5:14-16, but do they understand the meaning?

In this third episode of “The Little Pot” and “The Tea Pot”, the potter forms a new vessel and names it, Oil Lamp. After the Oil Lamp is created, it is too shy to shine for the potter and hides under a bowl. As storms come and darkness enters, the little oil lamp must learn to shine so the other vessels do not feel scorched. Through the testimonies of Tea Pot and Little Pot, Oil Lamp realizes its true purpose is to shine for the potter. The potter then places it on a lampstand to shine across the house.

Children will bring the scriptures on letting your light shine to life as they discover the light within them. They will understand that shining their light means sharing their story of how Jesus is at work in their own lives (just as Tea Pot and Little Pot did). They will be able to spread peace and goodness to others when they overcome fear and shine, too.
